Tinnitus (Ringing in the Ear)

By Dr. Farzad Farahmand:

Tinnitus is the perception of sounds in the ear, such as ringing, hissing, clicking or roaring, without any actual external sound being present.  Tinnitus is not considered an illness in and of itself, but rather a debilitating symptom of a variety of other underlying health conditions.  In fact, there are roughly 200 different underlying conditions identified as possible causes of Tinnitus.

Here are a few different possible causes of Tinnitus:

  • Age related Hearing Loss- Bilateral hearing loss typically starting around the age of 60.

  • Hearing Loss due to exposure to loud noise, either in a single sudden traumatic experience, for example hearing sounds of bombs and gunshots by soldiers while at war, or as a result of prolonged exposure to loud noise over time, for example at work or at loud concerts .

  • Obstruction of the middle ear as a result of excessive ear wax, nasal congestion or sinus infection, causing pressure in the ear canal which can affect the proper functioning of the ear drum.  In many cases, the removal of the blockage can alleviate the Tinnitus symptoms, however in some situations the blockage may be severe enough to cause permanent damage that can lead to chronic Tinnitus.

  • Side effect of prescription medications, some of which may resolve after stopping the medicine.  However, there are some medications known to cause more permanent Tinnitus symptoms as their side effect.

  • High Blood Pressure, Atherosclerosis

  • Psychiatric disorders such as Depression and Anxiety

  • Tumor related conditions

  • Severe past or recent Emotional shock- PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

  • Traumatic past or recent Brain Injury (TBI)- caused by concussion or shock to the Brain as a result of sports injuries, automobile or other traumatic accidents causing damage to the auditory processing areas in the Brain.  Brain injury can also cause inflammation of the Brain and its exposure to inflammatory agents elsewhere in the body.  Mild to severe Brain Trauma is one of the major causes of Tinnitus among the military and the veteran population.

Some patients who have experience past or recent mild to moderate or severe Brain Injury, or severe Emotional Trauma, have experienced relief from their Tinnitus symptoms using a combination Homeopathic remedies along with Dr. Salar’s Normalizing Brain Function full package.  Detoxification of the body, as well as improving Gut function to control inflammation in the body, may help prevent further Brain inflammation after the treatment, in addition to improving overall health.  However, due to the complicated nature of the symptom of Tinnitus, the treatment is not guaranteed to work for everyone.

The Tinnitus treatment is individualized and therefore not available on the product page to be ordered online.
